The Fair Music Platform

Decentralized Streaming for a Fairer Music Ecosystem

The Fair Music Platform is designed to ensure that everyone involved in creating great music is paid fairly—according to the true value they contribute. We believe this can spark a revolution in the global music industry, providing creators with the resources they need to make a living from their work and continue producing the music we love. In addition, it will encourage the seamless sharing of cultural expressions, both locally and globally.

The Fair Music Platform (FMP) is an initiative of the International Music Council, New Internet Media and Kapela, in collaboration with professional creators’ organizations worldwide.

This project is the result of years of dialogue, advocacy, and collaboration at national, European, and international levels—centered on the rights of music creators, with a special focus on fair remuneration and recognition.

Fair Music Beta is now live!

The Fair Music Project is more than a platform: it is a global initiative to reshape how music is valued, distributed, and experienced in the digital age.

Developed by the International Music Council (IMC), New Internet Media (NIM), and Kapela, and co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, Fair Music is built from the ground up with creators at the center.

The music industry is too often marked by opaque payments, fake streams, and gatekeeping. Fair Music offers a different future: transparent, equitable, and powered by the people who make the music.

We are now inviting artists, composers, songwriters, and creators to join the beta phase and help ensure the platform serves your needs, your rights, and your future.
